After you arrive at our shop, our lead mechanic, and/or owner James Welcome will thoroughly inspect your classic. We go through some common checks including inspecting your transmission, tires, brakes, paint, and the overall condition of your classic. Most importantly we’ll take your classic on a test drive. Sometimes a test drive can make you aware of hidden conditions that would contrarily remain unknown if the vehicle was idle. We’ll be able to detect if the vehicle moves in one direction or shakes. We can also ascertain irregular sounds from the classics engine or brakes. Some of these concerns may be small enough that it would minimally impact our appraisal, if at all. Both our team and you should be aware of any underlying issues before an agreement is made. This way repairs can be made to ensure safe driving. That is why we emphasize test drives for any vehicle we purchase or sell. You can never be fully confident in a vehicle without driving it yourself first. Not to mention, it’s a thrill to drive a classic you’re interested in calling your own.
